The "Sardana Oberta" sculptural work was created in 2000 by Manuel Àlvarez, the creator and designer of numerous pieces commissioned by companies, administrations and corporations, among which we should highlight the range of sculptures created for the Catalan TV programmes "Vostè jutja" (1985) and "Un tomb per la vida" (1993).
His work has been exhibited in Catalonia, Spain, Europe, the USA and Latin America.

A FOREST TURNED INTO A SCULPTURE
Is a starking and startling place that contrasts with the traditional style of its exterior.
This area is dedicated to one of the great works of sculpture by the Catalan artist Josep Guinovart: Contorn-Entorn (1976).
It was installed in Poble Espanyol at the beginning of 21st century after having been exhibited in the Maeght Gallery and in the Barcelona Modern Art Museum of Barcelona. This artwork has found in Poble Espanyol the ideal place to be observed as it really deserves. It is a masterpiece of the informalist movement that sometimes shares space with temporary exhibitions by other artists.

Then you'll love the Sculpture Garden, the icing on the cake of this original tour of contemporary art in Barcelona.
This particular space, inaugurated in 2004, is also part of the Fran Daurel Museum. Walking through this garden you can discover 36 sculptures by 27 different artists. 3,000m2 surrounded by trees, flowers, contemporary works of art and two big slides!
