Workshops for children

The children’s workshops at Poble Espanyol are an excellent way to encourage creativity and imagination in young children from an early age. These workshops are designed for children to learn by experimenting and exploring different craft techniques. In addition, they are taught by the Poble’s expert artisans, which guarantees a quality educational experience.

The workshops are adapted to different skill levels, allowing each participant to learn at their own pace. Children can create their own unique pieces while having fun and spending a creative afternoon with friends or family. By participating in these activities, they also learn about the importance of craftsmanship and how this traditional craft can be preserved in today’s society.

One of the most popular workshops is the decorative pottery workshop, where children can learn how to paint a piece of white clay and take it home to decorate their house. There are also mosaic workshops, where they can experiment with this technique to create their own work of art: a dinosaur, a star, a turtle… Other interesting workshops for the little ones are the potion bottle workshop, the teddy bear and tiara workshop and the wooden toy workshop.

These are quick workshops lasting 20-45 minutes and can be booked all year round with a minimum of 48 hours’ notice. Check here the days, times and prices of each workshop and enjoy a fun and educational experience with your family.

Workshops for adults

Poble Espanyol also offers personalised workshops for adults where you can learn to work with different materials and tools from the Poble Espanyol artisans. These workshops are ideal for those who are curious to learn more about a traditional craft or simply enjoy a creative and relaxing activity through a more personal and private experience.

If you prefer jewellery, Amparo Valencia will teach you how to make your own silver earrings with unique designs and engravings. Do you like painting? David Valeri will guide you in creating a decorative painting using the gutta technique. And if you are interested in glass, Júlia Rodríguez will show you how to design and create a personalised stained glass window that you can take away with you on the day.

No matter what your choice, all experiences are unique and unrepeatable. Find your favorite and don’t forget to reserve your spot in advance!

If you want to enjoy a more complete experience and delve deeper into some craft techniques, introductory craft courses are an excellent option. They are taught on Fridays and Saturdays of each month at different times and last 2 to 4 hours.

Among the courses offered is Suminagashi, directed by Maria Pujol, in which you will learn a Japanese art technique that uses inks and papers to create unique and unrepeatable designs. You can also learn to work with ceramics in the Ceramics Introduction Course, where you can create food-safe bowls with your own hands and decorate them with the slip technique.
