The Romanesque Monastery of Sant Miquel, located at one end of the enclosure and with breathtaking views of Barcelona, is truly special. It is surrounded by a garden area and has a chapel, a cloister, a room for holding banquets or meetings and a separate entrance for maximum exclusivity and privacy.

It is one of Poble Espanyol’s most symbolic buildings and was created by the modernist architect Puig i Cadafalch, who sought to recreate a Catalan Romanesque monastery located a stone’s throw from the city centre.

Renting our monastery in Barcelona, for any type of events
Although it would not appear to be the case at first, the rent of our monastery in Barcelona can be used for different type of events. The first and more straightforward use, weddings. Here you can organise a wonderful banquet, enjoying the gardens for the cocktail and the annex space for the meal or the dinner, for example. But not only it: here you can celebrate the ceremony itself. The monastery of Sant Miquel has its own blessed chapel, that is why we can organise religious ceremonies here. If you prefer a civil or symbolic one, we have other options that, for sure, will fit with what you are looking for. Can it exist a more original place in the city for this so special moment? Probably not. Our monastery also can be used for film shootings, video clips recordings, advertising spots, fashion photo shootings and any other audio-visual product which needs a medieval setting or an historical touch. And, generally, you can rent our monastery in Barcelona for any other event, both private and corporate ones: commercial product presentations, press conferences, team building days, conferences, company dinners and so on.

How to get there?
The access by public and collective transport is another positive point of our venues. You can get here by metro or by FGC (train) to Pl. Espanya, by urban bus (13, 23 and 150), tourist buses and, of course, by taxi or private vehicle. Also note that there is a parking for cars and motorcycles or buses, right behind Poble Espanyol.
