What is the origin of artistic expressiveness, and how can this art influence contemporary graphic design?
One of the key questions that shapes this activity is: what is the difference between art and design? We will also explore how art has influenced contemporary design, from the Bauhaus school, which broke down the barrier between craft and industry, to today’s advertising.

We will see how elements from the works of Joan Miró, the materiality and texture of Antoni Tàpies, or the expressive explosion of Pop Art can become tools of communication. The experience is divided into three phases: a participatory visit to the Fran Daurel Museum to connect contemporary art with graphic design; a creative debate in the auditorium about how to apply art to product design; and finally, a hands-on workshop where we become artisan designers, creating a layered poster using tracing paper and templates, applying the knowledge acquired.

You will take your individual poster and a pedagogical dossier prepared by Bauplay to continue working in the classroom.

You can take the design with you on the same day. Also available in English.

Art, play and me: Artistic movements at the Fran Daurel Museum

What do we see when we look at a work of art? And if we were the ones painting it… what do we want to express? We propose an interactive journey where art and play merge to discover the great contemporary artistic movements inside the Fran Daurel Museum in a fun and engaging way. During the visit, we will take part in active dynamics to connect with different styles: we will experience the power of Expressionism through the textures of Miquel Barceló, delve into the dreamlike world of Surrealism by Jorge Castillo, and be inspired by the infinite universe of Yayoi Kusama to transform her work. Afterwards, we will move on to the workshop space. In small groups of 5 or 6 participants, you will decide on your message and use Bauplay’s sensory materials collectively. Finally, you will become artists, and each of you will create your own painting to express your inner self. Come and play, come and make art! Once the workshop is finished, you will take your individual artwork with you immediately. Min per group: 15 participants Max per session: 30 participants Led by: Professional artists from Bauplay
